Frequently Asked Questions

 

A: July 19-30, 2010 at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Center for the Arts. Students should arrive 15 minutes early on July 19th for registration.  We will start promptly at 9am.  Please be on time.
A: Tuition $400 (unless the participant received a scholarship award) and is due Friday, June 1st.  Please mail to: Sparkling City Light Opera. PO Box 3002, Corpus Christi, TX 78463

A: Participants are required to bring a bag/sack lunch each day.  The lunch period is only 45 minutes.  Participants will NOT be allowed to leave the building.

Students will have a 2 hour dinner break from 4pm-6pm.  Students may leave the building, but must return promptly for 6pm rehearsal.

A: Participants will need to have a minimum of 2 song selections (1 classical, 1 musical theater) memorized and ready to perform in master classes and lessons.  Participants will need to provide sheet music for all selections. CD recordings are NOT acceptable. Participants will need to bring a word for word translation of all songs and arias in a foreign language.
A: Participants should wear loose comfortable clothing for their morning classes (Body Wellness, Dance, Drama, and Rehearsal).  Please bring a pair of jazz/character shoes.  Bring a change of clothes if you are scheduled to sing in a Master Class or Studio Class.  Mock auditions are scheduled with professional directors and college professors.  Students should dress in audition attire to receive feedback on all aspects of the audition including appearance.

A: Formal Recital: Friday, July 30th at 6:00pm in Warren Theater. (TAMUCC Center for the Arts)  This is a free performance open to friends and family.

Carousel by Rodgers & Hammerstein: Saturday, July 31st at 2:00pm in Warren Theater. (TAMUCC Center for the Arts)  Suggested Donation- $10
