Emerging Artist Competition
Applicants
will compete for cash prizes, scholarships, and a performance engagement in the
upcoming season.
1st
Place:
$500, full-scholarship ($800 value) to SCLO Vocal Arts Workshop (summer 2010),
and a performance engagement in the upcoming season
2nd
Place:
$200, partial-scholarship ($600 value) to SCLO Vocal Arts Workshop (summer
2010)
3rd
Place:
$100, partial-scholarship ($400 value) to SCLO Vocal Arts Workshop (summer
2010)
Eligibility
for the Emerging Artist Competition is determined by these specific criteria:
*Contestants must submit a completed
application, copy of legal proof of age, and
required entry fee ($25)
* Emerging vocalist between the ages of (16-24)
* Planning to pursue a career in Vocal Performance
* Commit to performance in the upcoming season- 1st
place recipient
* Prepare 3 selections from the operatic/art song
repertoire. Must have at least 1 aria.
Selections must include at least 1 in foreign language and 1 English.
*Travel expenses to the competition are the
responsibility of the singer.
*All singers have the option to use the
accompanists provided by SCLO or bring their own.
*Entry fees ($25) MUST be paid by money
order or check.

deadline to submit application materials is postmarked no later than February 10, 2010.
